New York Times: ‘Samaritan’s Secret’ is ‘provocative…humanist’

In The New York Times Book Review Marilyn Stasio leads her review of current crime novels with my latest Palestinian novel, “The Samaritan’s Secret.” She calls it “provocative…Rees adopts a humanist perspective, keeping the military maneuvers in the background and focusing on ordinary people struggling to live ordinary lives.” It’s an excellent review which gives me more space in her roundup than an individual author usually gets. Read the full review here. Careful observers may also note that the little cartoon accompanying the article — which is based on the author photo from my book — replaces my chest hair with a tasteful undershirt. Evidently it isn’t only the book that’s “provocative”…
