Rees to appear at Jewish Book Week, London, Feb. 27

I’ll be appearing at the London Jewish Book Week alongside Jonathan Freedland, who writes for The Guardian and is the author of a couple of successful thrillers. We’re billed to discuss what prompted us — as journalists — to write mystery/thriller fiction, and also to talk about the Middle East, politics and fiction in general. Jonny is the author of The Righteous Men and The Last Testament under his pen-name of Sam Bourne.

When: Wednesday, Feb. 27, 8.30 p.m.
Where: Royal National Hotel, Bedford Way, London WC1
(Nearest Underground stations: Russel Square, Euston, Euston Square, Holborn)
(Buses: 7, 59, 68, 91, 168, 188)

I’ll also be making a second appearance at the Book Week, in conversation with Sayed Kashua. He’s an interesting writer, a Palestinian Israeli with two autobiographical novels to his name. He lives in Jerusalem and writes a column for Ha’aretz. I’ve met him a number of times and I think you’ll find he’s quite a character…

When: Sunday, March 2, 2 p.m.
Where: As above
